If you want to explore the local area and venture outside of the park here are some places of interest. Whether you are looking for gentle walks, a little family fun or something a little more exciting, there is something for everyone.

At the entrance to the park there is the World of Country Life which has lots for all the family no matter the weather and the beautiful Parish of Littleham with lovely places to eat and some small shops.

The town of Exmouth is not far with all the shops you would expect and a regular market. There is a Marina a beach and other things to do including regular Stuartline Cruises.

Perhaps a little wander for the day will take you to the beautiful Bicton Botanical Gardens or Powderham Castle great picnic spots and lovely walks.

In the charming town of Sidmouth there is lots to see and do including a Donkey Sanctuary amongst other things.

South Devon, home of The English Riviera famous for its award winning beaches at Torquay, Brixham, Paignton & Babbacombe also hosts award winning attractions such as a Zoo, Living Coasts and an amazing model village.

Dartmoor National Park separates South Devon from North Devon and if you love the great outdoors it never disappoints with its breath-taking scenery and striking granite tors.

The National Trust has many properties and spaces of historical interest across the county but Killerton House and Castle Drogo are a must see.

For the more adventurous there is Crealy Adventure Park one of two in the Southwest and Quadworld, and for the less adventurous there are Miniature Ponies and Model Railways.
